Senior Manager Salesforce Platform Architect

Responsibilities:
• Own the overall platform technical architecture and lead a team of solution and technical architects that design and executes solutions to meet requirements and that are scalable, reliable and secure.
• Contribute to a program vision while advising and articulating program/project strategies on enabling commercial platform across 78 countries where Brenntag has commercial operations (14.4 billion EUR in revenue).
• Ability to orchestrate the resolution of program issues and ensure that customer solutions are aligned to product roadmaps through collaboration with other Salesforce product, sales and customer success teams.
• Troubleshoot and drive resolution of key customer architectural and implementation issues.
• Provide guidance on application and integration development best practices, Enterprise Architecture standards, functional and technical solution architecture and design, environment management, testing, and Platform education.
• Drive the creation of application and technical design standards which leverage best practices and effectively integrate Salesforce into Brenntag’s infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot key product team implementation issues and demonstrate ability to drive to successful resolution.
• Lead the evaluation of business and technical requirements from a senior level
• Review releases and roadmaps from Salesforce and evaluate the impacts to current applications, orgs, and solutions
• Identification and pro-active management of risk areas and commitment to seeing an issue through to complete resolution
• Negotiate solutions to complex problems with both the product teams and third-party service provide build relationships and work with product teams; contribute to broader goals and growth beyond the scope of a single or your current project
• Establish and operate the governance processes and gate checks (ARB, Design reviews) to maintain and enhance the quality attributes of the platform across programs, teams, apps and vendors.
• Develop Platform Standards, Policies, Guidelines, Best practices to drive the strategic evolution and maturity of the platform within the enterprise.
• Provide technical oversight of all the implementations with focus on the below:
o Platform Architecture
o Application Design
o Data Volume
o Integration patterns
o Security model
o License Management
o Cost Optimization
• Drive strategic roadmap of the platform, optimizing value and effectiveness against strategic initiatives, incorporating innovation and competitive landscape inputs and preparing the organization for growth.
• Support project intake with assessment inputs in capability reuse, platform capacity rationing needs and future scalability needs.
• Provide architectural leadership and related trade-offs in choosing between custom development vs. configuration.
• Establish a Multi-Org strategy for various organizational capabilities and lines of business.
• Develop Apex and LWC Frameworks in collaboration with COC and app delivery teams and build a repository of reusable components and capabilities.
• Review and Approve app/program configuration changes, releases and platform upgrades.
• Identify and pro-actively manage platform risk areas and develop a working solution for business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Continuously evaluate Salesforce App Exchange Products, Industry innovations, Salesforce releases and provide point-of-view recommendation to leadership.
• Support Salesforce knowledge improvement and upskilling needs of the Enterprise.
• Participate in designing COC capabilities, processes and services to better serve the organization’s growing needs.
Qualifications
• Extensive hands-on technical and solution implementation experience with the Salesforce Lightning Platform, Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, demonstrating positions of increasing responsibility and management/mentoring of more junior technical resource
• Proven ability to analyze, design, and optimize business processes via technology and integration, including leadership in guiding customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging technology for business use cases
• Cloud application and architecture experience , with knowledge of the wider regional cloud ecosystem.
• Stakeholder management skills, empathy and understanding of personalities and situations with the ability to communicate the right message, at the right time, to the right audience.
• Certificates Salesforce Admin, Sales Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud Consultant, Advanced Admin, Platform Builder, Technical Architect
• Ten (10)+ years of relevant work experience in Applications design, development and architect roles.
• Six (6)+ years in managing a Salesforce CRM ecosystem, with extensive experience in architecting, transforming and implementing large scale programs for enterprises on the Salesforce platform as well as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud.
• Deep technical experience in managing development activities leveraging Salesforce technologies like Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Open CTI, Salesforce Mobile, SSO, Platform Events, REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience working/operating in a Salesforce Center of Competence model while managing common platform capabilities shared by multiple lines of business.
• Well experienced in future state architecture and roadmap planning with focus on intake planning for competing business imperatives.
• Experience developing and operating business capabilities utilizing Omni Studio, Data mask, Einstein AI capabilities, Shield, Tableau CRM and other AppExchange products
• Prior experience in establishing Salesforce integrations with upstream/downstream applications leveraging industry standard integration patterns, techniques and tools (e.g. MuleSoft, CTI etc.).
• Prior experience in managing the application delivery lifecycle functions for the Salesforce CRM ecosystem from ideation through planning, design, development, testing and rollout phases under different SDLC. methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall .etc.), development of custom forms and intelligent workflows with integrations.
• Prior experience in managing multiple Development and Testing Salesforce sandbox environments addressing administration functions inclusive of environment provisioning, user provisioning, Data refresh/masking etc.
• Prior experience in managing a 7x24 Production operations for the Salesforce application inclusive of Application administration, Application monitoring, Capacity Planning, Production incident management, Application Release Management, Change Management, Security patching functions, with knowledge of deployment tools, processes and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or Life Sciences; Master’s degree preferred.
• Salesforce Application and System architect certification preferred.
